Luke 24 1-8 (puzzle from Joan H-D)
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone r _ _ _ _ _ away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightening stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has r _ _ _ _! Re _ _ _ _ _ _ how He told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: The son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be r _ _ _ _ _ again. Then they r _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ his words.

Message from Pastor Paul
I’m having a double celebration to-day because not only is this the day that our Lord broke through the barrier of death, but it’s also my 62nd birthday, the day when I took my first breath in the living room of our house, which was then no.17, Ash Bank, Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent. Midwives came to the homes at that time, rather than Mums going to hospital, assuming there weren’t any complications. Obviously there weren’t any complications with me. They happened later! Then I met Jesus, and He sorted the complications out! Let’s allow the risen Lord to do what only He can do – to be alive in us, to sort out our complications, and to receive us into His kingdom with the faith of a little child. We cannot enter into it in any other way (Luke 18:17). Have a wonderful Easter!
This week we’re beginning our readings in Exodus and John’s Gospel, so please collect my notes on Exodus chapters 1-6 this morning, entitled ‘Set free to worship’. This will be my theme for next Sunday.
Further message from Paul
Next week (15th), we’re dedicating Tadi and Godwin, the boys of Chine and Tsitsi, to the Lord. It’s exciting that Chine and Tsitsi have felt led to take this step, and we shall stand in faith with them that the boys will grow up to know and love their Lord and Saviour.
On the evening of 15th, we’re at the Community Church again for our monthly prayer time, 7:00pm start. Do come if you can. These are inspirational sessions, and we can gain a freshness from praying with other congregations.
