Message from Paul

We see from this week’s headline verse in 1 Peter that God wants a people in whom He can delight, and who delight in Him. We are reading from Exodus 13-19 this week, and we see in chapter 19 that that was exactly the Lord’s purpose for Israel, as His chosen people. We welcome our friends from the Manna Fellowship this morning. Let’s delight in the goodness of God as we worship together, declare His praises in the congregation, and then go out and declare them again whenever He gives opportunity. Remember that lovely verse from Psalm 37 (verse 4):

‘Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart’. Hallelujah to Jesus!

Come home to Jesus (from Joan H-D)

I have had several remarks made to me following our Easter Sunday service. Remarks like – is it in its home? Everything has a home. Put it back in its home. What about us? Are we in our spiritual home? Have we come home to Jesus? Home is such a comfortable place. We can be ourselves there. We are understood there. We are accepted, valued, loved unconditionally. We serve our Master there. We find deep satisfaction. We are fulfilled there. Where is that? I hear you ask. At home with Jesus . Where we belong.

Picture the scene. You are preparing a meal when you hear a knock at the door. Jesus is there asking to come in. You gladly welcome Him in. He sits at your table and shares your meal. You talk. You listen. You learn. Together you plan your next move. He instructs you, encourages you, inspires you. You begin to sense a great thrill as you move forward in this adventure of life with Jesus. You are at home, you are comfortable, you are with Jesus. He has come to stay. Make sure you stay too.

Some messages from Richard

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gerrie who’s father died peacefully in May Day hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday May 3 at Holy Saviour Church, Cameron Road, Thornton Heath with the committal service at the graveside of the cemetery in Queen’s Road.

Our prayers also go out at this time to Gerald’s wife Noreen and their son Darryll. For those who may be attending the service or would like to send some flowers in memory of Gerald, Gerrie has requested that gifts might be sent instead which will be split 2 ways with the RUSH project and May Day hospital.

Ming and Brenda news from Gill

Also Gill was able to ring Ming and Brenda during the week, the news is both of them feel the break in Thailand has done them a lot of good, Ming feels almost 100% again and Brenda also feels a lot better and stronger and hopes her next visit to her doctor will be very positive and that the trip home to Ireland can be put back until nearer the birth. They send their love to us all.
