Message from Paul

This morning we’re looking at the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit as Jesus describes it to the disciples in his last teaching session with them before Calvary. It is a twofold work – the work He does in the believer, and, secondly, the work He does in the world at large. Both happen in every generation simultaneously, but the extent of the latter is dependent on the extent of the former – i.e. if the Spirit of God is working powerfully in believers, then He will be working to much more telling effect in the unbelieving world around. Charles Finney, the great American revivalist, is often quoted as saying that the church is more blameworthy for not being revived than unbelievers are for not being saved. Jesus has chosen us with the express desire that we bear much fruit. Let’s make sure we do!

Working Party (note from Paul)

A big thanks to all those who helped in any way at the work party yesterday. The building and grounds are much more presentable as a consequence of your efforts. Your sweated labours are most appreciated!
