Message from Paul
Holidays maybe not quite finished yet (at least, mine aren’t), but today is as good a day as any to begin our Autumn series of readings, this time in the books of Leviticus and Hebrews. Derek is coming to preach this morning, and he’ll be speaking around the subject of sacrifice and offering, which is described thoroughly for us in the first seven chapters of the Old Testament Book. The good news for us is that Jesus’ death on the cross rendered these sort of offerings obsolete, and the shedding of His blood fulfilled all the requirements that were necessary under the Law. Not only does that Blood meet my need as a sinner, it also is the ground of my access as a worshipper. An understanding of the Levitical Law helps me to realise with heightened awareness everything that Jesus has accomplished for me in His perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
