Message from Paul
Welcome to our harvest celebration for 2007. As I write this, the new banners are in place, and the Autumn fruits and flowers are gracing the seasonal display. It looks wonderful, and a big thank you to all who played a part. It has been particularly interesting this year to adorn the building with a Levitical theme (chapter 23), since the book has formed the basis of our readings since the beginning of September. I’ve asked Jenny, Joan and Gordon to speak about what the banners meant to them, and how they have a clearer understanding of the scripture as a result of putting their creative gifts to work. That will be most interesting!
A couple more points:
1) Don’t forget that our offering this year is going to Daryl and Maureen, so let’s bless them in their growing ministry. I’ll keep this offering open for a couple more weeks if you haven’t come prepared to give today.
2) We’re also linking in today with an international call to pray for Israel, and for her peace, which the scripture enjoins us to do. It’s not, of course, peace at any price; it’s the peace which only the Prince of Peace can give.
Friend’s news
we’ll be saying farewell to Rohit, Vedotmah and Hursh in a couple of weeks’ time. Rohit has successfully applied for a nursing post in New Zealand, and they’ll be leaving to begin their new life at the end of this month. We shall miss them greatly, but it’s a wonderful opportunity for them all and our love and prayers go with them.
Message from the Au Family
Dear Family and Friends,
Our newest addition, Aislin Au, was born last Friday. She weighed in at 2980g or 6lbs 9oz. She is fine and healthy and Brenda is doing well. Roisin is enjoying school and would like to stay in Ireland! Oisin has put on weight and is doing well here.
We are relieved that it is all over. We will be here in Ireland until early November and then we will go to the UK. We intend to return to Cambodia on the 20/11/07.
All the best, Brenda and Paul Ka-Ming Au
Congratulations
Congratulations to Barry and Gerrie as they announced their engagement on Monday.
